Stop Them

In recent months, we’ve been bombarded by a fresh onslaught of dire predictions by desperate Climate Change Swindlers. We’re being told that we’re all going to die from flooding or drought or storm or heat or starvation unless we stop burning fossil fuels and putting carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

This despite the fact that the world has been in a short term cool PHASE since 2002, the arctic sea ice regained its former (1979) high extent in winter 2012/13, and the antarctic sea ice had doubled in extent in its winter of 2013. (Remember the shipload of “warmists” who sailed into the antarctic waters the Swindlers had told them would be open and had to be rescued by helicopter because their ship and two rescue vessels got stuck in the ice.)

A handful of computer modelers, bankrolled by the foundations of billionaire limousine liberal-socialists like George Soros and Maurice Strong, have been costing us trillions of dollars in misdirected spending and lost opportunity costs. When he was the Secretary General of the 1992 Conference of Environment & Development, Maurice Strong declared; “Isn’t the only hope for our planet that the industrialized nations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring it about?” A pathological hatred of humanity is the unifying bond of the entire clutch of Climate Change Swindlers.

In the 1960’s and ’70’s, they screamed we were all going to die because burning fossil fuels was going to bring on an Ice Age.

In the 1980′ and ’90’s, another bunch claimed we were all going to die because burning fossil fuels was going to bring on “Global Warming” and make the earth too hot for life. When the warming stopped and cooling began they switched to “Climate Change”.

They lied.

But, incredibly, they’ve been able to capitalize on the agendas and/or egos of the public, media, entertainment, academic and bureaucratic elites who have pressured weak-minded politicians in western governments into making a multitude of economy-wrecking decisions.

The science IS settled – by over 500 studies conducted by thousands of real scientists researching real world conditions – not by a handful of computer pickers projecting outcomes from a limited list of short term data.

Carbon is the basic building block in the structures of all living things on this planet. Animal and vegetable – ALL living things. Anyone who criticizes carbon is either woefully ignorant or willfully wicked.

The sun is the driver of temperature on earth. When solar activity increases, the earth warms; when it decreases. the earth cools.

The only reason the earth doesn’t alternately boil and freeze like the moon does as it rotates is because it is blanketed by a 30-mile thick protective atmosphere that acts exactly the same way as a greenhouse does. This is the “Greenhouse Effect”.

Between 95% and 97% of the greenhouse effect is caused by the water vapour in the troposphere – clouds, mists, fogs, etc.

Only 3% to 5% of the greenhouse effect is caused by four dry gases – carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and fluorcarbons. The last two occur in only trace amounts and there are less than two molecules of methane in a million molecules of atmosphere.

Carbon dioxide is the major dry gas. Currently there are 395 molecules of carbon dioxide in a million molecules of atmosphere. The level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has risen from 291 molecules in a million molecules of atmosphere since 1870. This increase is perfectly coincident with the current global warm PERIOD which began in 1850.

The oceans contain more than 100 times more concentration of carbon dioxide than the atmosphere does. When the earth warms, the oceans release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. When the earth cools, the oceans take some carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. To rephrase – global warming causes more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere does not cause global warming.

Carbon dioxide is critical to life on this planet because it is what vegetation ‘breathes’. Without Carbon dioxide there would be no trees, plants, grasses, vegetables or people! More carbon dioxide means more plant life means a greener planet and more food..

Commercial greenhouse operators pump carbon dioxide into their facilities to a level of 1200 molecules of carbon dioxide per million molecules of air in them. They do so to promote the growth of their flowers or vegetables.

The oceans are by far the main source of atmospheric carbon dioxide. Volcanoes and animal exhalations also release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Combined, these three sources contribute 95% of the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Human activity contributes only 5%, therefore, the contribution of human activity – the burning of fossil fuels – to the greenhouse effect is miniscule – 5% of 3% to 5% or less than a quarter of 1%! If there had been no people on earth, global warming and cooling cycles would still have occurred as they are doing on other planets in the solar system on which, so far as we know, no one is burning fossil fuels!

Global climate warms and cools. Since the 1950’s, there have been increasingly sophisticated investigations of climate history as revealed by cores drilled in ocean beds and glaciers, and by geological research. Tools and techniques have revealed warming and cooling cycles extending back millions of years.

We are currently (2014) living in a short term cool PHASE that began in 2002. By 2013, the global average temperature had dropped by 0.12 degrees Celsius since 1998. This short term cool PHASE followed a short term warm PHASE in the 1980’s and ’90’s, which followed a short term cool PHASE in the 1960’s and ’70’s, and so on and so on. Since 1850, the net increase in global average temperature has been 0.78 degrees Celsius. It’s quite possible we may begin another short term warm PHASE in the late teens or early 20’s.

We are currently (2014) living in a warm PERIOD that began in 1850. It followed the 550 year “Little Ice Age” cool PERIOD that began in 1300 which followed the 550 year “Medieval” warm PERIOD which began in 750 AD. (The year 1000 was one degree warmer than the year 2000.) The 550 year “Dark Ages” cool PERIOD began in 200 AD and followed the 450 year “Roman” warm PERIOD” and so on and so on. It’s possible the world may begin another cool PERIOD sometime around 2300AD.

We are currently (2014) living in an INTERGLACIAL. As the name implies, an INTERGLACIAL occurs between GLACIALS. Glacier and sea ice increase during GLACIALS and recede during INTERGLACIALS. The preceding GLACIAL began about 120,000 years ago and covered virtually all of Canada, a bit of the northern USA and a major portion of northern Eurasia with glaciers kilometres thick. These glaciers sucked up 350 to 400 feet of water from the oceans. About 20,000 years ago, our current INTERGLACIAL began, the glaciers began to recede and the oceans began to rise. By about 6,000 yeats ago, shorelines, ocean levels and glaciers had pretty well reached present day levels. In the last 10,000 years, global average temperatures have ranged by only 3 degrees Celsius from highs to lows. The world is currently about the middle of that range. GLACIAL and INTERGLACIAL cycles over the past 750,000 years have been studied. It’s possible that Toronto may be buried under kilometres of ice 80,000 years from now.

We are currently (2014) living in an ICE AGE that began about 40 million years ago. It followed a WARM AGE that lasted 220 million years during which there was no ice at all anywhere on earth. ICE AGES over the last 800 million years have been studied.

Climate cycles are natural phenomena driven by forces far beyond human control and are only beginning to be slightly understood by scientists. To pretend otherwise is folly.
